What kind of sound does that all cedar have? I want a loud, sharp box. I really only use them for locating/long distance stuff. Thanks.

If you're looking for loud and sharp, I'd think an all walnut short box or a walnut with a bloodwood or padauk paddle. All would give you some good loud yelps and that sharp cutting you're looking for. Of course a good long box would take it up a notch.

I have a long box from Mike that's made out of purple heart and cedar.  LOVE IT!  Super easy to use and sounds amazing.  I was lookin' at that walnut over butternut short box before it got snatched.  LOL  Might have to get one later on down the road.  If your short box calls are as well made and sound as good as your other calls; I'll have to jump on one.  Can't beat the prices and I have some calls that are up to $100; that lack the overall sound your calls have.  Keep it up Mike.  You're doin' good!

Swim-Bait, I did the snatching of the Walnut/Butternut box,lol... just got it in. I can tell you that it is well made, good volume and with the right amount of rasp I like in a call. All things considered,it's hard to pass on Mike's work. He as well as many other call makers on this board put their heart and soul into the calls they produce. They will make the extra effort to get you what you  want. Great people to deal with. Take care...Strutter.
