What in safe items are you guys using.  Buying a new safe and would like to have something in there.  Do you use anything.  Maybe I just need to put a humidity checker in there and see what it is before deciding on something.

A "Golden Rod" is the best first defense item I've found. In addition, I keep a wool sock full of regenerative silica beads in there. I watch the humidity on a guage inside the safe and it doesn't fluctuate much with or without the beads, so I figure the "Golden Rod" is doing the most work. Chances are, if your safe is ground floor/inside, and you don't live on the coast, then humidity shouldn't be a problem for you. But, if it's in your basement or you do live on the coast, then you most likely need something to deal with moisture inside the safe. My .02

I agree with the golden rod dehumidifier. I have used one forever.. I really don't need it but it is cheap insurance. They are cheap to run, they last forever, and best of all, they work.. No need to replace packets or refresh them in the oven. One and done..I use the smallest one that they sell. Mike
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?
