FF3 Haze?

Yall ever notice the slight blue haze when looking through your FF3. This is my first experience with the FF and I kind of like it, but not 100%. I do like the red dot and the precise aiming point over the two beads I have used for 30 years, I have killed two with it this year. The only issue I see is in low light it seems to have a slight blue tint that if you have the red dot to bright, it overwelms your sight picture.

I had a Burris 336 mount installed and am curious if any of the other small red dots will fit the base??

Thanks

Any red dot I've seen has a little color change when looking through it.  My ff3 is a little blue as you have described. My truglo is a little orange or maybe amber colored. The ff3 has an awesome sight picture though. Maybe a 1000 dollar aimpoint is better.... I'll probably never know. You can use the auto adjust setting to eliminate the glare problem I mostly use the third click. I know a couple of guys that like the Bushnell trs25. Its small lightweight and seems pretty tough.

I have been using the low setting mostly, the only time I have used any other setting is in extreme bright sun shine. I do like the sight, put the red on the head and the bird is dead!! LOL I doubt that I will go back to beads, exspecially since my Benelli shoots a little high right. I tried a scope and just couldn't get use to the tunnel vision, or the always chance that the 3.5's will make you have a half moon above the eye.

The slight color tinge you see is from the anti-reflective coatings the glass it treated with, same as a rifle scope, binoculars or any other high end optical device.  Without it, reflections on the glass would make it hard to see thru under certain light conditions.  I used an inexpensive Tru-Glo open lens sight for a while that was camo colored.  That was a mistake for a couple of reasons.  Good glass coatings are expensive and the Tru-Glo was not good coatings.  The very camo color of the sight under the glass reflected on the glass and made it hard to see thru.  Buy good sights with proper anti-reflective coatings and only use sights that are matte black.  It will make a lot of difference in being able to see thru them.  I have replaced my Tru-Glo sights with new model UltraDot L/T's with 10 stage brightness adjustment and am much happier with them.  Nothing wrong with the Fast Fires, but the L/T's have considerably bigger lenses which I like.

The only time that the blue tint is even an issue is in low light, and even then it is really not that much of an issue.

What about other sights on the Burris 336 base??

Doubt you'll find anything else that will bolt on that base....but maybe? I use a Da Mar base. They aren't very well known but are very rugged. Not sure if it's an option for you to switch to a different base but if you're thinking about it check the Da Mar out.

I will check them out Snoodsniper thanks. What sight are you using??
I had my SBE drilled/tapped to fit the Burriss 336 base as it was not drilled/tapped from the factory, I guess if I went with anything else I could have the base drilled to fit my reciever.

I'm using the ff3 with picatinny protector. Picatinny type mount is the way to go IMO.
