I'll venture to guess that these items were seized due to some type of criminal activity, and they're just selling it off. A lot of items seized (cars, trucks, boats, and planes) are used in future investigations and stings and sold afterward.

I was doing a google search for Gortex bivys - and low and behold it popped up -It looks like a way they liquidate older US GI property

Ever wonder where all those surplus Army uniforms, backpacks , etc.... I think guys buy up lots on this site , break it up and sell individually on eBay
