"I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in Me may not remain in darkness" (John 12:46).

I was teaching the Genesis creation to a young man last week and we talked about the stars always shining, whether its day time or night time.  The Lord gave us the earth and heavens for our benefit.  Even when it's dark on the face of the earth, the stars are always there for us to use.  Darkness cannot snuff out the stars.  One of their uses is the reminder that our gracious Lord is always present.

Moral and spiritual blackness may cover the earth, but the Light of the World, Jesus Christ, cannot be snuffed out.  People lie, cheat, rob, kill, and blaspheme.  They may ban the Bible and despise the Church, but Jesus still shines.  His message and power continue unchanged forever.    His Word and glory shine into eternity.

Spiritual darkness covers human life, but Jesus' perfection, atoning death, and resurrection continue to shine in this darkness.  Jesus comes to our dim secret corners and brightens our darkest moments.  He forgives our blackest sins and gives eternal life.  He promises to live with us forever.

Because of Him we do not despair.  Jesus, the Light of the World, cannot be snuffed out.

May your Almighty God  -Father, Son, and Holy Ghost- fill you with the light of salvation.  On this day, may He strengthen and encourage you, direct and counsel you, through His holy Bible.

The darkness, try as it might, cannot overcome the Light of the World!  Rest in His strength and peace this day, friends!
