Clark,
Thanks for the welcome and reply. I've only got a couple seasons under my belt so I've got a long ways to go for turkey knowledge. This site looks like a good place to get some info from.
I had actually sent ATI an email over the weekend and got a reply this afternoon. They said they didn't offer 20ga stocks but should early next year. This kinda confuses me considering what you said lol. Also I noticed an ATI stock in the classifieds for a 20ga. Maybe they didn't understand my question?
You're welcome. No, I'm sure you framed it correctly and that they understood it. ATI is a company driven by perfection in all aspects of their operation. The stocks designed for Mossberg guns fit both 12 gauge and 20 gauge guns. They have never been satisfied with the adaptors that they use for those stocks for Remington, Winchester and other 20 gauge shotguns. Those adapters had a "proud fit" and they just did not like the way they looked, despite the fact that they worked very well. I have them on 2 Remington 29 gauge 870s for example.
They are in the process of developing a new adaptor that fits exactly flush with the receiver. I have a couple of those that they've already made for the 12 gauge guns and they do look better than the others.
That's the reason for the reply that you were sent.
So, if you need one for a 20 gauge Mossberg, you're set. If you want one for a 20 gauge Remington, you may need to wait for the new adaptor.
I really like the AKITA adjustable hunting stocks. They just help so much with recoil and since they have an adjustable LOP, they can be used by shooters of many different sizes, or grow with a young person.
Please let me know if I can be of help.
Thanks,
Clark
