Kaylas first deer with her bow, and I couldnt be more proud!!!

Well Kayla had been wanting to go back to the blind again ever since we had that big buck come in on us last time. So all weekend she talked about going back in there and hunting again on monday after we got off work.  After work i went and picked her up and we were in a mad rush to  get ready and try and get out to the blind with a good amount of time left to hunt.  We got in and got all settled in about 6:00 and let everything calm down. She was so excited and we were both hoping that either that big buck or a nice doe would come in for her to get a shot at with her new bow.

Everything was calm and we hadnt seen any movement yet, then at about 6:30 i glanced over across her out her window and two does were walking right down the hill 10 yards right by the blind. I told her "dont move but get ready here they come, two does."  She got a big smile on her face and said she was ready. The does walked down right by us and onto the flat in front of us to eat acorns.  As she pulled her bow up to draw back the bigger doe caught the smallest movement and kinda jumped and trotted a few yards but the smaller doe stood there broadside just looking around.  Kayla pulled up and came to full draw on her.  I was trying to get on her with the camera, it all happened so fast! Usually Kayla takes a little bit to get settled in but this time she was as calm as could be and settled right in on her, I said "tell me when your ready", She said "Im ready". "OK then shoo.....TWACK!!!" LOL.  She drilled her right through the heart and clipped the spine too, the deer dropped where it stood and the celebration began. Her expression was totally priceless and im so glad that we got it all on film to share and remember forever. She is such a great hunter and I am so proud of her, we couldnt whipe the smiles off our faces. I was more happy to be there with her for that than if i had killed a state record buck!! What an awesome evening and another awesome hunt.

We are gonna give that spot a rest for a few days  but with the weather coming next week we will be in there as much as we can hoping to get her a buck soon.  But with her out of the way she said "ok now your up next" Attached below is a picture of Kayla with her deer after we dragged it out, got dark on us quick, and the video of our hunt Everyone check it out, quick fast action but turned out not too bad. thanks.

Watching your kids succeed is the best thing in the world, congrats to her and THANK YOU for being that kind of parent!!!!!!  I think I posted pictures of my daughter's first bow kill this past spring; a big ol hog taken while she was 13 weeks pregnant with twins (who turned 8 weeks old last Monday).

LOL. I am not a parent. This is my Fiance. We are getting married in January, man i must look old if she could pass as my daughter, thats bad haha

oh she already loved to fish and hunt just like i did when we met. She has killed several deer with a gun, actually has a great buck at the taxidermist now she killed last rifle season but this is her first with a bow. She is definitely hooked for life, and she has me hooked for life on her. Thanks guys.

Thanks guys!! We are still excited about it. That was one of my two main goals i set for myself before season started 1) get Kayla her first deer with a bow and 2) get kayla on a nice buck.  I know with some vacation days coming up for me that i will have my chances at deer but my main focus was to get her on some deer and put some on the ground. We have checked one off the goal list and now we are gonna focus on 2. She will also be filming for me some this year as well so we are just getting started.
