I've been busy getting ready for deer season on my weekends. Started running my cameras last week, but the results, at least for the first week, were mixed. I found a really nice, young ten and a cull 7pt. It has been raining every day here for a couple weeks now and my place is a mud hole. I have seen turkeys eveytime I've left the camp. A buddy and I put a 50 gallon hot water heater in my camp week before last. That is going to be nice once it gets cold. The old one was a small under the sink type heater. This weekend I'm going to start box blading roads and moving down trees. Then we'll start prepping the fields for seed. With any luck we'll get some colder weather than last year and kill a few.

Hope all is well with y'all.

Some nice deer in those pics. Must be nice to be getting some rain. I cant remember the last time it rained enough to get the ground wet. A lot people around here are losing deer due to blue tongue.
Going to bowhunt a island on the platte river this year. Normally you cant waded to it. This year we can walk out to it without getting your knees wet. We saw a lot of big deer out there with no way of getting out there. Taking a couple ladder stands out this weekend to it. Sept 15 cant get here soon enough.

After you sent me those pictures the buck fever has set in.  Paid my club dues on Wednesday and might head down to the land for a bit tomorrow morning to do some work.  Hope everyone is doing well.

Nice bucks!!!

I'm so pumped about getting up in a tree.  This year our season here in NY opens Oct. 1st, two weeks earlier than in the past.  There are some really great bucks running around.  My trailcam season has been so-so with only two of my top 5 hitlist deer showing up on my cams.  I've seen them while spotlighting but no pics.

This dude (aka "Big Boy") is hitlist buck #1 for 2012. I had only seen this deer one time back in mid-July.  He was with 4 other shooters at the time...one of which is a bruiser in his own right.  I had just about given up trying to get pics of him when he decided to show himself last saturday. He sure added some trash since last year!!!

I call this guy "Dagger."  He's only a 3 year old but he'll be a hard one to pass on.  I don't know what happened to his right antler this year, he appeared to have injured it early in the growing season?  He was a beautiful, symmetrical 8-pt in 2011.

GOOD LUCK GUYS!!!!!

That top buck has amazing G2s.  That is a trophy anywhere and I hope you will keep us posted and show the deer you get this year especially if you get this brute.  Good luck and be safe!

I've picked up his right antler for the past 2 springs.  He's really added on this year and turned trashy...

I love his distinctive "curled in" brows..

Nice bucks!  We have an urban archery season now in my part of VA that opened this past Sat., hope to get out a time or two to try get some doe tags out of the way.  I start a new job soon so hunting during bow season in Oct. maybe limited for me:( I've been spending a lot of time working with our lab to get him ready to turkey hunt this fall.  Doing really well with it so it looks promising.  just need to get him in the woods to try to bust some birds up before it opens the end of October.

It might be a tough deer season around here. A lot of our deer are dying from EHD. So far twenty have been found on the island we're going to hunt. Went out tonight to it didn't find any new deer sign. Did find one fresh dead doe.
A buddy found this one behind his barn tonight. Been trying to get him the last two years.

WNY,  That is a PIG. Every time you post deer pics I still have a hard time believing your not in Iowa. He's got to be 175 class, if not better.
