Oh for the days of real television...

He was always one of my tv favorites.  Some of my favorite episodes were with the Darling boys... stone faced bluegrass at its best.  :)

A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands, love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper; his hands remember the rifle.

Well I wish the man's soul peace in heaven as I would any human being.  But his extreme liberal activism of late had soured me on him as a person.  Many know him only as the character he portrayed, conservative, family values, small town common sense.  However he revealed himself as other as many hollywood actors do.  I wished no ill of him.  May his soul rest in peace.

Sad to hear. I just watched his last film a couple days ago called "Play the Game" and got some good laughs out of it. He was great on the screen and with his music. I hate to hear he has left us.

I don't know of any shows today that will still be played 50 years from now and reach generations the way that the Andy Griffith show did. I will always stop the T.V. surfing when a marathon is on.
Great T.V.
Thanks Andy for the laughs
