Custom Call w/ Picture?

Hey Guys, it's been a while. I use to be on here all the time, but this is my first time posting since the site changed over.

Anyway. I finally talked my older brother into talking Hunter Safety and coming out turkey hunting! Only took me till he was 28! Long story short, we had the greatest hunt I've ever been a part of with our father calling in a beautiful 20.5lb Tom with a 9.5" beard and me sitting with my brother through the whole thing!

Now to the whole reason for the post in this section. I wanted to get the picture of the three of us with the bird made into a slate call with the date laser etched or wood burned into a matching striker. Anybody know any call makers who would do this? I'm not worried about price, you can't worry about a price with a memory like this!

Gene Blackshire "Blacky" makes a fine glass over glass pot that he puts the customers pictures under the glass on the soundboard.  Pappy could and would also get the job done for you as well.  Im pretty sure Misfire does this also.  Im sure there are others, but I just cant remember them now.

Just about all the call makers on here can do what you want as far as the picture.

One thing, if you asre looking for a slate call, then you would have to have the pic laser engraved onto the slate as you would not be able to see it on the sound board under the slate? Best look up someone who could laser work the slate.......I have seen some site somewhere that offered this done.

The only problem with trying to laser the picture onto slate is it will effect the playing of the slate. You can feel the cuts in the slate. If you are wanting a picture done I would do a glass or crystal call with the picture on the soundboard. You will need to condition the call which will scratch the glass but you should still be able to see the picture. When your looking around give me look I can help you on whichever way you go.

I agree with this, I only mentioned the laser engraving as you had stated you were looking for a "slate" call.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the responses. I mis-stated what I wanted in my original post. I should have stated that I was looking for a pot call, as i am looking for a picture behind glass. My fault for the confusion, we refer to all pot calls as "slate" calls in my neck of the woods regardless of what the striking surface. Anyway, I've gotten quite a few PM's so now I have a lot to look through and make a decision. If there are any other call makers that do this kind of work, feel free to PM me.

P.S. This will be strictly a talking piece, so there won't be any need to condition the surface.
