whats yalls how to on preserving the legs after the kill for use in a later display?

wet a paper towel and rap around each leg and put in zip lock bag , put in freezer, should keep them for 6 to 9 mos.....

I worded this wrong....how to preserve or dry out the legs.

Here in WY they just dehydrate!
If I had a dollar for every gobbler I thought I fooled I'd be well off!
