My brother and I have always talked about trying to go for a a slam.  We have both harvested a bunch of easterns but no other species.  We would like to start on a slam in 2013 with a Rio or Merriam's.  We will probably have to hunt with an outfitter due to time restraints with work.  Can only get away for a few days.  Does any body have any recommendations for reasonable outfitters in a state where you can kill multiple birds on the same trip?  We have looked into NE a little bit.  Open to any suggestions.  No preference on Rio or Merriams as we have never harvested either species.

Thanks!

I have gone to WY the last two years. The first year was to hunt for the second part of my slam. this year was because I had so much fun with the guide on year one.  I'm booked for next year already but haven't picked a date yet.My first year  http://imgur.com/a/bsVnc   My second year    http://imgur.com/a/AThNC The first year I flew to Denver and then drove 6 or 7 hours north to hunt. This year a friend and I drove out and back.  Here's a link  http://www.wfoutfitter.com/index.htm   If I can help further just PM me.

Don't want to steal any work from guides but just wanted to throw the idea out there that tags are over the counter with a lot of public land out West.  If you decide to try Utah I could help you out.  The over the counter tags run from late April to the end of May.  The early season here is on a draw system.  My hunting partners and I do all of our hunts on public land.  We just camp out and usually spend two weeks each spring chasing gobblers in New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado.  Arizona is on a draw system also.  If I cam be of any help give me a shout.

I time is not a problem that probably is the best way to go.  Hear or see very few post regarding Utah on any forum.  Might be the last "secret" still out there.
