Hard to believe such a big old bird comes from such a small fuzzy little ball. You hatch those in an incubator or will your hens set? Using a brooder? We used incubators and brooders. I used to stick a quail hen in the brooder with quail , pheasant and turkey chicks. It would take a day or so for the hens to get used to them but they'd adopt them all soon enough. They all have the same lost call. Once the chicks started getting pin feathers I'd move them to a pen with a light bulb hanging in it and raise them on out. Would just leave the hens where they were and stick a fresh batch in with them. Survival rates really went up when I started using the "surrogate" hens. Probably mess up the imprinting on you though.

I hatched them from an incubator. I don't use a brooder. I just have them under a light. I have about 20 more eggs in the incubator. I hope a few more will hatch next week.
