purrs on a mouth call?

Trying to broaden my bag of tricks and I just can't seem to get this one down.  I practice and practice but I just can't seem to get it to sound worth a crap. Do you growel in your throat? ?  Roll your tongue?  Flap your lips??  LOL !

Any tips from the experts??

I haven't seen that one before...thanks for the link...I thinkI just found my problem...to high a pitched call...I will try with a more raspy one and see how it works...thanks again!

ghillie in no way am I a pro but I have had the same problem. I can now do all  three of the methodes you mentioned. I found alot of it is the type of call more than anything else. Technique comes with practice.  Keep at it and don't get frustrated.

the key for me was to learn to purr without the call first...like making a locust noise while fluttering your tongue against the roof of your mouth while humming a high pitched falsetto note...it takes some practice, but I can purr without a call as good as I can without one....which may not be that good

I sort of growl in my throat without using my vocal chords.  Sort of a reverse snore.  Flapping my lips doesn't sound so great.

I roll both my tongue and my lips and finish with a nice sweet cluck.

I just roll my tongue but also finish with a nice low cluck. Works REAL good.
