I found this in a plowed field hunting in middle TN. It is a bone with a groove cut through it.

Rapscallion Vermilion

Maybe part of an atlatl?   Is there anything like a notch at the end of the groove at the fatter end of the bone that might hold the head of the dart?  It looks like the groove goes a bit deeper there, but it is hard to tell from the pictures.

Its solid at the end of the bone but the notch is deeper. Its broke off at the other end. I did look for the other piece but couldnt find it. What kind of bone is it?
