My season ended quietly Sunday morning. I got to aggressive with a bird Saturday and it costed me a shot,. Figured I didn't have anything to lose, but when I moved about 10 ten yards I saw him at about 60 heading my way. Oh well, another lesson learned.
I hunted every chance I had and ended up with 2 for me and 1 for my son. I didn't miss any, but had more than few blown chances. All in all it was a an below average year. The saving grace was my son's first bird. My birds never did get really fired up. In fact the middle to end of the Mississippi season is usually better then the beginning, but this year the birds were more active early.
Good luck to all that are hunting, as I will be pulling for y'all and following the stories of your success and failures as I count down the days till March 15th.
Thanks again to our captains.
