Youth season here in Pa, so I took my 5 year old son out just for the experience. We set up on a woods line out back of my house and had 3 longbeards in the field at 120 yards. Made a couple calls and one split off and headed down into the woods we were sitting beside. Came in below us and left out a gobble at around 60 yards. I thought my son was going to come out of his pants. We couldn't get turned for that one and he disappeared.
The other two longbeards were now at 60 yards and closing distance, when my son points to a big red oak beside us and says "That is a giant tree we should cut down". "Yes son it is, now lets go get some breakfast"
It was at that point that I realized there are more important things go through the mind of a 5 year old than long beards. Wish I could say the same.
