I had a Charles Daily Maxi Mag semi 3.5.  I Liked the way it shot (traded it) and missed it greatly.  Last spring finally bought a 935 semi.  You would want to buy a Charles Daily at a good price though because they are out of business, which is one reason I went with a 935.

Two of my buds had em both patterned well, both missed fire often. Cost one his first turkey. He bought it new had less than ten rounds fired through he traded it. Other buddy refuses to get rid of it because he loves the pattern it throws, but I know of four long beards just last year that lived to see another day because of it.
I couldnt find parts last year for it but it seems they have a firing pin issue. He did find a smith that would work on it and so far he's two for two this year.
I put to much time and money in chasing turkeys for it not to go boom when I light her off.

All this time I thought I was alone!  I had a Maxi Mag I bought brand new, and it miss fired twice on birds, and once on a coyote.  When misfired it would just barely dimple the primer.  I sent it back after the first miss fire, and they returned it saying nothing was wrong with it, but they changed the hammer spring anyways...  Absolutely ZERO confidence in the gun, so I got rid of it.  The thing did pattern well, when it actually went off though.

To answer your question, mine patterned well (over 200 hits) with a TruGlo Gobble Stopper Xtreme with Hevi 13 #6 or 7's.  Patterned Winchester HV's well too.
