Turkey season just came in last Saturday for us North Carolinians.  I have been four days in a week, and I haven't heard the FIRST gobble.  I've talked to my friends who all turkey hunt as well and THEY haven't heard gobbles either.  (We are seeing hens, jakes, and gobblers on trail cams and have seen a few walking in fields).  You can't get these turkeys to shock gobble with an owl call, crow call, fly down cackle, NOTHING!  My friends seem to think it is because we had warm weather early and they did the majority of their gobbling and breeding before NC Turkey season came in.  Your thoughts and suggestions?  I've tried all the tactics I know, and I am FRESH out of ideas........

Just stay in the woods and keep hunting. They do not have to gobble to be shot. If you are seeing turkeys then they are there.
The down side is you may not take one home, but you will learn a lot for the future.
