Willow

How is willow for box call bodies?  If it can be used, would a hollowed box or something like a glued half moon be better?

I've used Willow a couple of times for boxes, the swamp black willow seemed to have a better sound in it. The calls had a more mellow sound to them similar to what a mahogany box would.
