All else being equal will a longer barrel patten better than a short one?  If so how much better?

It has been my experience that it works that way.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

Sometimes, but not always, have seen a few times that the same brand gun same choke and load where the short barrel won out.
