Selecting which bird to shoot first..??

Never been a hard choice for me. I shoot the first one that has a long beard and comes in front of my gun if they are both acting the same. If one is doing all the strutting I shoot him. I kill too few birds to worry about the little things like that.

What I have found is when birds are in close groups like that and you have 3 birds all strutting and gobbling and not one dominent bird than it usually means they are equals.

From taking a couple of doubles out of groups like this they were almost identical either two 2yr olds or two 3yr olds so take your pick..

Perfect..thanks!

Same here..thats why I wanted to make sure I increase my odds at doubling when I can  :)

Once I'm sure the bird is not a jake I will shoot the first longbeard that offers me a shot.
Deer see you and think you are a stump. The Old Gobbler sees a stump and thinks it is YOU!

If you consistently have that kind of dilema, send me a pm and tell me what time to be there and I'll do my best to help you sort it out... :z-guntootsmiley:
