Went hunting this morning around 9:30 am. Got to the woods easing along calling and listening. About 10:15 am after a short calling on my box call the gobbler hammers back at me. I could tell he was close but I didn't know exactly where. I sat down and called trying to get the bird fired up. It didn't work he wouldn't gobble anymore. About 10 minutes later I see a hen about 150 yds out working towards me. The gobbler was still around but just not in sight. As the hen worked closer her and I were trading a few words and then I heard the infamous Spit and Drum! The gobbler stayed out of range and strutted until that hen worked her way towards him. He only gobbled 1 time and once he got with that hen, him and her went the other way. I had to be at work soon afterwards so I loaded up and headed out. Maybe tomorrow will be the day I fill my last tag! Hopefully!!! :fud: :OGani:

I got to work 12 hour shifts this weekend so I doubt I'll hunt any saturday or sunday. But....... After monday i'm off until the tuesday after easter, so maybe I'll that third tag filled by then. I guess if I'm lucky enough to fill that third tag soon, I'll get a bama license and head to some private property in Alabama. Maybe after this weekend they'll be some more birds tacked on to the kill sheet! Good Luck Yall. Im going in the morning and friday morning, i'll report in after both hunts.

Had a club member kill a good bird this morning. I think he said it had a 9" beard and 1 1/4" spurs. I sure hope the weather cooperates for the SC guys this weekend. I wish all my team mates all the luck in the world this weekend. Get out there and kill some big un's!!! I'll be back after them monday morning.  :anim_25:
