Purpleheart w/ copper over glass? Good combo?

Thing of making a copper over glass in purple heart. Would this be a good combo?

It's worth a try.  I use osage, mesquite and shedua for copper calls, and have used padauk in the past.  As long as the wood is hard and dense, it should work o.k.  Just remember that there are a lot of variables in building turkey calls, so what may work for one person's pot design may not work for the next person's pot.

It somewhat depends on what kind of sound your looking to get out of the call? Most purpleheart pots have a low pitched sound out of them, they make a loud call, but it's a deep sounding call. The combo your looking at will make a good sounding call, but it will have that deep pitch to it. Be carefull with purpleheart, it burns black very easy and heat will change the color of it somewhat.
