I'm trying to find a good load for my girlfriend to shoot out of my 835 when we go turkey hunting  but here's the kicker I think she would be more comfortable shooting a 2.75 shell. So far I found a load that puts 85 to 90 pellets in a 9 inch circle at 30 yds. Is that enough pellets or should I try to find a better load and if I need to try something else what is some good shells to try.

Hopefully someone can help with the load info, but I do want to offer a suggestion.  What I did with my son was to never let him shoot the heavy 3" Mag load before hunting.  I did all the pattern work to make sure what would shoot in his gun and just let him shoot a couple of light field loads.  The first time he touched off a 3" mag was when it was pointed at a gobbler.  He missed the first bird, but with the adrenalin of the situation he never felt a thing.  Same goes for his second bird which he did connect with...  Moral of the story is, they will never feel the recoil during a true hunting situation.  Just a suggestion that might allow you to go ahead and use the 3" loads at least.

I really don't know what the best load would be for her, and that gun in your situation?

But regardless, if the 2 3/4 shoots well at 30, you just have to limit her shots to match the shells effective range. If you are wanting more range, it might be hard to do with that shell?

I bought some Hevi-13 12GA 3" 1 1 5/8 #6's and they kick like target loads. Very different from the 3" 2oz #7's. Makes sense due to less payload, but I didn't think it would make that much of a difference. Both loads state 1090 f.p.s. Ammotogo has some Hevi 13 2 3/4 #5 maybe some #6's left for like 7.95 for a 5 rd box.
