This is a tough sport played by tough people. The harder you can hit on defense, is directly proportional to how much you money you make. Every team in the league is looking for the Nitschke or Butkus type linebacker. All of them, and they pay big bucks when they find them. If it"s flagrant, you throw out the offender for whatever is deemed an appropriate amount of time, and you fine him. They need to leave this call on the field.

I played SEC football till I got hurt, but had several good friends go play pro. I can promise you that this is NOT an isolated case. we did it in high school and college and for damn sure they do it in the pros league wide. so teams do it differently than others. in high scholl and college it wasnt a monitary thing but there were "bonuses" and other incentives for certain "tackles" In the Pors its just that PROS!! they get paid to play the game. and they get paid a rediculas amount of money at that!! In every for of employment there are performance incentives and bonuses to make employees strive to work harder. there are commisions for salesmen who target certain clients.  at the end of the day its all the same, and its still football!! grow a set and put on your big boy drawers and play the damn game!!

I agree wholeheartedly!! I just read today that Payton will lose 8 million in salary. An 8 million dollar fine.. WOW!!!
