Love the red dots and holo sights. Have a couple aimpoints and a couple eotechs and wouldn't trade them for any other type of sight.

Reddot Fastfire/Speedbead to be exact put them on my daughters, wifes and my turkey & waterfowl benellis. Wouldn't trade them for anything!

I have hunted turkeys with guns that had beads, rifle sights, red dots and scopes. I had good results with rifle sights and scopes. Maybe I did not have high enough quality red dots, but two different brands cost me a couple of turkeys. The problem I found with red dots was that they did not gather any light (it was darker through the red dot than with the naked eye). In the early morning woods that is a real problem. The scope I have is not expensive, but looking through the scope is as bright maybe a little brighter than without. Certainly, it has not caused me to be unable to shoot a bird that I could see with my eyes.

I have used all those sights at one time or another. My favorite are the red dots.

indians killed them with spears and rocks probably, pilgims im guessing muskets style muzzleloading guns, my grandpa an old shotgun with a bead, daddy a old shot gun with a vent rib and a bead, myself with a vent rib and a bead. i guess to be only 28 and young i havent got cought up in the commericalizing and hype of turkey hunting and still enjoy the nice peaceful outdoors and a day breaking gobble followed by a 3 1/2 in load of serious thump coming out of my 870sm with a vent rib and bead into a gobblers head..lol ok maybe the gun and shells i got caught up in the hype but hey im just 28
