Franchi Affinity?

I will preface by saying I have not read any reviews of this gun, just my first impression. I've been a fan of Franchi for some time now and enjoy my 912 for it's versatility and function, I can't help but think of the Affinity as nothing more than the Stoeger 3500 with Franchi badge. That's not necessarily a bad thing. If in fact there are no difference between the two why would someone spend the extra money for the Franchi for anything other than name sake?

Quax, let us know what you think. I was disheartened to learn the I-12 has been discontinued as it is a sure enough great handling gun. The only dislike about it is the removable gell insert in the recoil pad, once it get wet it wants to easily slide out until it is dried.

The affinity is a 3" gun so the comparison should be to a 2000. The stoeger is made in turkey; the Franchi in Italy. Stoeger has a 1yr warranty; the Franchi 7yrs.

I just got my affinity in today. Handles well and points very similar to a benelli. Doesn't feel as blocky as the 2000 to me. Couple of things that will take a little getting used to: trigger is a little far forward and a little bit of a reach for the index finer (as compared to my gold). Number two, the magazine cap is a little cumbersome to get on. Overall, I like the gun and think it is a good buy. Hope to get out and shoot it soon.

Thanks for the update. The gun has some good lines to it, I'm looking forward to how she shoots. Did Franchi keep the chrome lined barrel for the affinity?

Shot the Affinity today and was pleased. Shoots perfect POA. Does kick a little more than my gold, but handles/points much better.

shot at 40yds. 26" barrel with Hastings .655: Federal HW 7s posted 177, old white h13 6s 161. Really pleased with the federal load, especially for only a 1.625 oz load. Pic below.

No, I'm pleased with fed HW #7 pattern and don't want to do anything to alter it; its my favorite round when its shooting right. Recoil is not that bad; just a little more than the gold's.

My gold's barrel is at Rob's right now for just that; not for recoil reduction but to help remove some pitting that was just in front of the factory forcing cone.
