Using a Gobble call

When do you use a gobble call? Locating, challenging a bird.......?   

Yes, yes, and as a legitimate call, especially in the afternoons.

This will be my first year using one. I plan to use it rarely as a locator and even more rarely as a way to challenge a gobbler that won't come to the call and I can't make a move on.
