Anybody had any adverse effects from polishing their barrel that they can attribute to it ?

Yeah! Its cost me way more friggin money since I started pollishing my barrels! Now that they pattern and clean so much better, I wana shoot it more and that's cost me more money in the last 6 or 7 years in ammo alone than in the last 30.

It will cost you money. You will need to buy more Frank's Red Hot to coat the extra turkey nuggets in.
Seriously, if you do it the correct way, there will only be positive gains to your pattern.
