H.S. Strut vpod

Anyone ever use one its the bi pod that mounts to the barrel. My question is my wife got me one for Christmas and it sticks out past the barrel about 2.5 to 3 inches. Would it be safe to shoot? Would it withstand the percussion?

I have one on my daughter's (11 yrs old) 20 gauge that she hunts with, but to be honest I have never shot it when it was folded up on the barrel.  It is perfect for her because she has a hard time holding the gun up for a long period of time and she's just not big enough to rest the gun on her knee yet.  I think it gets in the way for me however.  I usually take it off when I use the gun. 

My guess is that you would be fine to shoot it when its on the barrel folded up.  That shot pattern is pretty tight a few inches out of the barrel.

Trying to remember if I have been using mine for 1 or 2 years but either way I really like it. Easy setup it's always there. Perfect for how tight todays guns shoot.

Yea the pattern is definately tight not to worried about the pattern more the percussion from the ported choke since I wont be using it when I am hunting from a blind.

I have used one for the past 2 years and love it. Never felt comfortable with my gun on my knee, and I also use a HuntPac chair. So with the adjustable height and rotation from the swivel, it has proved invaluable in many circumstances! Loaned my gun to someone last year and they broke it somehow!?!? Gonna hit the BPS soon for another, unless I find one in Perry this weekend.

Never been an issue. It comes off your gun in under 30 seconds so if it makes u nervious blind hunting just take it off.

Easier then lugging a seperatate stick or bipod around.
