I just returned from another Sportsmens show.  As a call maker I hear many turkey stories at these shows but at this particular show I had two separate guys tell me stories that I find hard to believe about their turkey season last year.
The first guy said that he took a gobbler that weighed 28 lbs. (o.k. thats possible) that it had 1.5" spurs (sure I can believe that) and that it had
a 17.5" beard (now I'm becoming doubtful).
The second guy didn't give me any weight or spur length but said his bird had a 21.75" beard (now I'm thinking this guy has gone too far).
When I asked him to bring the beard in the next day he said he threw it away. (Yea right!!)
I hear stories like this all the time at shows.  Some talk about 70 yard shots and the bird dropping like a rock without a flop. A bird with 3" spurs.
I guess they don't realize that you can get carried away with your stories.
I have a question, does anyone know what is the longest beard ever recorded?
I could relate alot more of these because I hear many at every show.

I've heard similar stories. At the ISE show I had a guy tell me he killed a 50# turkey last year. I went to the NWTF records and the record beard is 22.5".
