Feeling more than a little stupid right now........

I'm posting this up because the truth is very important.
I just heard from L3 communications, and they have told me my EOTech is fine. They mounted it, zeroed it, and shot 100 rounds of ammo through the gun it was under, and it never lost zero.
So it looks like this was total operator error on my part. I can't explain what happened. All I can say is the sight never moved, but obviously I did something wrong.
I'm sorry to all you guys that own an EOTech sight that my post may have made you nervous about your sight, and for those of you looking to buy one, I wouldn't let my earlier post disuade your decision.
I want to send out a big thanks to BurrisOptics for being willing to help me out and send me a sight when I was in trouble. That along with having a really great product, will make me buy one in the future.
I don't know what else to say except I am really sorry guys. Those of you who own EOTechs, they are obviously a great product.
However, if I was looking into a new red dot, I would look no further than BurrisOptics.

It happens Mike.  You certainly aren't the first one here to blame a malfunction on something just to find out later it was your fault.

What could you possibably have done? If it was tight on the gun and you didn't move the adjustment screws then it should still be there. Did they test it with the same type of gun and loads your shooting?

I've adjusted the sights in the opposite direction before, and pretty much had it dead zero on target. Trying to get it  "perfect"   and had to shoot a BUNCH more.  


Happens to us all.

Way to "Man up"  You have my utmost respect.

Glad you are going to have your sight back for the season also with some new found confidence in it. That confidence can go a long way in the turkey woods.
Someone help me out here. Isn't setting up a red-dot sight the same as setting up bow sights? Whereas if it's shooting left you should move it to the left and if it's shooting right move it to the right to bring it more in-line with the barrel and the same if it's shooting high or low.

Man don't worry about it. You at least manned up and admitted it so it didn't put people off Eotech's.

I did the same thing with a brand new Nikon Monarch a while back. Had a brain fart and was adjusting it the wrong way while checking for tracking. Sent it back and felt SOOO stupid when they ent it back with a letter.
