WHAT A JOKE!!!

I saw an add for these in a hunting magazine. smoke a turkey, kill out to 50yds, no special choke needed the wad does it all..... I am thinking that with a 3" 1 1/2 oz load of nickel plated lead # 4, 5 or 6 shot out of a factory choke. Well the shot and wad both must be magic to get a killing pattern at 50yds. It would surprise me If they had a killing pattern at 35yds. Hornady should be ashamed.

This is being discussed in several variations on several different forums.  I have seen them already "on sale" cheap at a Dick's store.  Maybe the word has got out and they will disappear by next season.  All these shell manufacturers need to drop this 50 yard and above crap.

I totally agree they are junk. Everyone wants that magic number of 50yds and beyond, hell i had a kid that works at my local GS tell me he is taking 70 yd shots with hevi shot straight 7's with a straight face like he expected me to run over and buy every box they had lol. Like anything else, its all maketing and there is a sucker around every corner and they know it.

Its not about a killing pattern. They dont lie they will kill out to and past 50 yards. They wont have a great pattern even past 30 likely but all it takes is 1 pellet to the side of the head to KILL. I shot one at 74 yards once by mistake ( first bird in a field, my bad) with 2 3/4 #5.  Its not a killing pattern that kills it is getting hit in the side of the head by ATLEAST 1 pellet. We just like hitting them with an extra 20 to be sure lol


I bet these shells would work great for guys shooting fixed mod choke guns.
