In the north country near Lake Superior we have Northern Ironwood. It is the best kept secret around for fantastic density and sound. Strikers......shocking!!!!

My folks have an ironwood tree in their back yard..Mom planted it long before I was born and it's still there and growing. It makes sense that it would be ideal for a striker...now I just gotta find someone who has some wood to turn a few for me!!

Desert Ironwood makes real nice looking and sounding strikers but the blanks aren't cheap. It cost me over 50 bucks for four pieces and I snapped 2.
