I want to express a little gratitude here.
The first year I took up turkey hunting, I knew so little about anything to do with it, so I checked out a book at my local library called "Turkey Hunting with Charlie Elliott", written by none other than Mr. Elliott himself.
There was so much good, useful information in that book. I still refer to it today. The book was like a tape recorded conversation that you could go back and hear whenever you wished, and Charlie really knew his stuff. The book first came out in 1982 so it's a little dated, but not very much. Reading it, you really got a feel for what turkey hunters once had to do before the modern era (late 80s onward).
So to Mr. Elliott, wherever you are up there, I wish to thank you. I still say your book was the best I've ever read about the great sport of turkey hunting.
