They legalized 28ga guns here a couple of years ago so I figured I would give it a whirl. My gun is a 870 Express with a special order remchoke barrel and choke. Using Fiochi golden pheasant #6 loads it will put an average of 11 killing pellets on a turkey target at 40 yards. The overall pattern is small but the density is very good. I set my limit at 40 yards with this gun. I ended up killing a nice 21 1/2 pound bird with a 10" beard at 29 yards. His head was a mess.  It is light as a feather and on that place I have to do a lot of walking.

That is my take on this guns patterns. By 11 killing shots I am talking any of the 11 would have been fatal. I am going to pattern several of my guns soon including this one again. I will check out his loads. reflexi

I took this bird last spring with the little 28.  Hal killed one this winter (pics in reloading section)

Here's last year's 40 yard pattern-this year's gonna be even uglier! Doc

Which load did you shoot that pattern with?  Nice bird by the way! reflexl
