I seem to carry less year after year and probably still pack more than I need, there was a time when I would have actually put the kitchen sink in there if I it would've fit.
Ive wanted to eliminate wearing a vest all together, just haven't come up with the right replacement for carrying and or protecting my "tools of the trade".
Regardless of how I carry my stuff, I will always have a pot of some type, two diaphragms (cutter & kee), locator, pruners, a couple of strikers, water, wet wipes (good thick ones)
, scotch pad, mini Nikon binos, and a couple of shells for snakes....gotta save my Nitros for turkey killin.
Things like gloves, mask, and turkey loads are on me or in my gun when I leave the truck, if I need more than 5 shots in one outing.......I'm gonna take up golf as my hobby.

most importantly:
TOILET PAPER cuz if that bird ain't dead right off the tree and I have to re-set up on him, there's going to be a 5 minute pause in the action around 745 AM where I'm sitting some type of improvised natural throne
then:
calls
4 strikers
water bottle
decoys
shells
license holder w/ license(s)

1. toilet paper - nature always seems to call at the worst time
2. 2-3 pot calls; crystal, slate, aluminum
3. several hook's mouth calls
4. a couple of low brass shells for my shoulderless friends
5. pruners or saw
6. several strikers
7. extra mask and gloves....just in case
8. box call
9. crow call

Lets see...
Eight mouth calls (Assortment of Woodhaven, Tom Teasers, and Pittman)
Lynch World Champion box call
Crow Call
Extra shells
Box call chalk
Garmin GPS (Actually my handheld Astro from my tracking system I use for coon hunting, pulls double duty during turkey season. I often leave a collar turned on to direct me back to the truck.)
Single hen decoy
Gobbler Lounger
And this season, another space in my vest will be filled with a LightsOut custom slate...can't wait to see how this call turns out.
