Any help on turning Ipe?

Can y'all tell me any tips on turning Ipe?

I turn a lot of it for strikers and don't really notice much difference between it and most other woods that are not in the rosewood family.  It does like to splinter more than some other woods, so sharp tools and light cuts will help.

Are you having any specific problems with it?

No problems yet but I have not tried to turn it yet. I just noticed how bad the. Chop saw was screaming when I cut it and was wondering what I was getting myself into. Thanks for helping!

I would recommend a sharp scraper, or a carbide tool. I find that ipe eats HSS for breakfast and wont even burp
