As a young boy growing up in Indiana I remember watching my Grandpa whittling while sitting on the front porch while my Grandma broke green beans. He made a lot of different things with his old pocket knife. I remember telling my Grandma that I wanted a pocket knife like Grandpa had. My Grandparents were from the same generation as some of the call makers that I try to emulate today. That got me thinking. Everything that Grandpa made with his old pocket knife was very smooth. I just happen to be working on a "Big Stick" box call when it hit me. I picked up the old pocket knife that my Grandma gave me some years ago and begun what I call shaving. I shaved the whole box portion of this call with my knife. The lid is possibly the last of my old lid style. The box is Wormy Butternut and the lid is Padauk. The call is just over 18". I am asking $55 TYD
PM me if interested!
Thanks Grandpa for my new finishing technique.
