Hey guys.  Was wondering if any body had any tips to share.  Whether it is calling, tactical, or just a tip.  The best one I received is to eat a banana before you start hunting and then at lunch.  If you do your legs will not get as tired when moving or shakey/ go to sleep as you sit by a tree.

An old preacher told me " if ya think ya moving slow enough ya movin to fast"  he was right. I've killed way since I started slowing down. It's ashame it only took me about 12 years to learn.

I know when you watch the hunting shows you see hunters calling like crazy, but wing beats and scratching in the leaves is probably the deadliest thing you can do.  I fall hunt alot so I keep several hen wings off of fall birds I've killed on hand and carry one in my vest to imitate a flydown or a fight.  You can use use your hat by beating it against your leg or cup a gloved hand and pat your leg and get the same effect.  I like to keep some dried leaves close by as well so I can imitate scratching with my hand or a stick.

I guess my best tip to share would be this, don't be afraid to move on a bird if he's not coming in. If he's acting like he's hung up and stays hung up a while, or if he'll come a little ways and walk away gobbling. Try going silent and back out and circle closer to him. Ive had this work a bunch but you can't be afraid to move and you got to know when to move. As any turkey hunter knows having that "killer" instict and knowing when to make the right move isn't something that can be taught or learned it just comes after enough time in the woods chasing those long beards.
