Box Call Question

OK guys. I would like to know if most box call boxes are made from a single piece of wood or are glued together using separate pieces. I know they are made both ways but what is the most common and are there advantages to either one?

If your looking for a call that you can buy at bass pro or some place like that most calls are pieced together because it is way cheaper and quicker manufacturing but a solid one piece call sounds way better (in my opinion) than a pieced call. Im sure most guys on here would agree with me that they would rather be hunting with a custom made call rather than a store bought one that sounds the exact same as the other guy who bought the same call. Yes a custom is more money but to me the quality and art is worth the extra 50 bucks.

I use a solid block of wood and use a drill press and router to make mine. I havent made one in awhile but thats how I do it. I would say IMO using a solid block is easier and more forgiving than glueing pieces together. When glueing pieces together, you have to be sure of exact measurements for both the rails. I know guys who tape the left and right rail together to get them exactly the same when cutting on band saw or sanding
