Looking into KS Rio's

A buddy of mine and I are planning on trying to get into as pure bred Rio's as possible.  I've never been to KS (or out of Missouri for that matter) hunting turkeys.  Can someone give me a few WA's to look into.  Sending info via PM is preferred.  If you have some general comments on guidance, let her rip in this thread.  I've got a WA area in mind, so if you have been to a few and you wouldn't mind me bouncing a proposed area off you, please let me know.

We have a boat which may play into the decision of what WA to go to.  Also, we were thinking we will stay at state park cabin near a WA unless someone has some other lodging ideas.  It would also be nice to have a fair amount of WIHA ground around should the WA not be quite up to snuff.

I'm definitely not asking anyone to put me in the lap of a pile of Rio's, but some guidance would be appreciated.  We are looking to stay in units 2 and 3.

Another question if anyone knows the answer.  Is the McPherson area mostly Rios?  I've seen the distribution map and it looks like it could be a mix of Rio's/hybrids.

According to the info, Nebraska has 'em all.  Easterns, Merriams, and Riios.

Kansas is just easier to get to honestly.  And if I were going to Nebraska, I think I'd have to get up where the Merriam's are.  I just don't think that trip is in the cards this year.   Got two young ones at home, so got to keep money and time a consideration.  Man...I hope the kids grow up to be hunters.  Much easier to justify hunting trips.
