I'm trying to find my son a camo Rem 870 youth 20 gauge and have only found the compact. Is this basically the same as the youth model? I'd like to buy a combo that has a rifled slug barrel with it if possible. Any suggestions on where to find one with the best price is greatly appreciated.

I believe that youth and compact are the same. I have this exact model myself being that I am short stattured and it fits me better. Remington does make a combo where you can get a standard barrel with a slug barrel. You can check on their website under shotguns. I am sure that any dealer either has one or can get you one.

I love mine, they are lite and fun to shoot
