Long time area for me and where I shot that 24 lb bird. I have a thought of a new area I saw birds run into and will scout that tomorrow and Tuesday as all Wisconsin hunts start on Wednesday and end sunset on Sunday.

I hope to bag one there Wed and then move on to a brand new area, different zone of which hunting pressure seems a bit down. I have been scouting that area quite a bit as that ia around my new northern home.
I will finish week 5 there and also hunt week 6. I did see a nice piebald Tom there. And some nice 12 inchers!

So we will see what unfolds.

Season was tuff as it stayed far too cold and nothing ever really greened up. I did see a nice bird opening day on the 5th season in Zone 1 in a new area I selected. I will hunt there again. Also saw a yote.
I then went to zone 5 and worked with my nephew as it was all new area. He ahd a day and a half and it took me 4 days to figure a pattern out. Shot a 2 yr old last day.
I thne had 6th season tag for Zone 5 and as was this whole season the weather was terrible. But I hunted a new area and found a few toms. Took another 2 yr old the last day of the 6th season and the last day of 2011 spring season.
So was at 50% for the tags I had. I do know next year those who I took out will NOT be with me or if I take them out only when I don't hold a tag. I called in several birds of which where passed on or missed.
Not going to happen again.

Another great year Dave. Let's see if we can maybe hunt together next year, if you aren't tied down with someone else. I'm trying to work in someone new every year to hunt with especially off our team. Wisconsin isn't too bad a drive from here.
