Opening weekend my father took a hen as 8 fed by him through one of our food plots planted in winter rye and wheat. I had 3 skirt my effective range as I was set up in a food plot of white and red clover so I decided to head back down yesterday morning and set up where my father shot his. Just like clock work at 10am here came a flock of 12-15 birds, 3 jakes and the rest hens. I left the jakes and took a nice mature hen with my 20ga 870 shooting #7 hevishot.
