Anywhere from 14" to 22" where I hunt here and single digits to below zero for a week now. This is not good for my little birdies here. I have put out 400 pounds of corn and seeds in the last 2 weeks. My local farmer is a great human being. He has been a godsend in putting out feed around his properties. He clears spots and gives me a ton of corn to put out. He deer hunts his properties and I turkey hunt them. He left one small spot for me and my wife only and I am grateful. I hope everyone is doing ok out there. Z

I always think back to the weather in the 90's and early 2000's and not only how much worse it was, but also how much longer it lasted. The population of turkeys in NY was better in the early 2000's than anything I have seen since. I think the turkeys will be fine.

Hope everyone is doing OK. We are starting to warm up...1* above this morning and suppose get to 20* above this afternoon. I really feel for the people that received all the ice. A person can move snow, Mother Nature has to get rid of the ice. She can be mean/nasty and take her sweet time in doing it. Stay safe everyone.

Turkeys don't seem to have forgotten how to survive what used to be normal winter weather around me. Farm this was taken at draws a lot of winter turkeys because of the silage and cow crap though. Strictly hardwoods turkeys have it a bit harder but if they can find shallow enough snow to scratch in they seem to get by. Thought it was cool to see them strutting in single digits on a frozen brook.

Tail Feathers

We have been in the 70's all week.  Sorry, had to rub it in.
Looks like an early spring and hot summer coming.
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

Hopefully the bumper crop of hard mast that seems to have blanketed most of the country this year helps them through the tough weather.

Sad to see the massive wildfires ripping across Kansas and Oklahoma right now.
