Marsupial had a nice 4th of July sale so I picked one up in bottomland. Been looking for a bino harness chest rig for quick grab, lightweight run'n gun hunts when an opportunity presents itself. Also something I can use scouting or whatever I'm doing. I wanted a rig I could attach a box call pouch and small pocket for at least 1 pot call, striker, mouth calls and a few other essentails that are always ready and easy to grab and go. Been looking for months, then I got serious when saw 4th deals start popping up. I was about set to pull the trigger on another brand when Marsupial also went on sale last week. But after comparing I decided the Marsupial enclosed bino harness pack was it.
I made a mistake and started checking out all the other pockets and attachments for the bino harness when I stumbled upon the upland vest. I was pretty excited about the versatility a vest for turkey, upland birds as well as adapting the belt for various deer, big game spot and stalk applications, to paring with my bow and saddle hunting gear.
Long story short, Upland Vest showed up a couple days ago and it's pretty freakin awesome! It had a few unchecked boxes as far as filling a role primarily as a turkey vest that I saw before I bought it, but I had a plans. I haven't hunted it yet obviously, but I've been impressed so far with the potential of it for being a really, really great turkey vest. First impression... just the comfort, fit, feel, workmanship, quality materials and the customer service I've already received from Marsupial Gear are top notch.
FYI, I've already called and talked with someone 2x on the phone. These days, that alone says a LOT about who a company is. I called once after I bought the vest and asked if they could swap some pockets on the bottomland upland vest package I purchased from bottomland to blaze orange for bird hunting and they said, "Absolutley, no problem"! Then, after I got the vest I had a question about fit and how it's designed to be worn and used. I have an idea of how I want to use it and was given some great information that will help me get the most out of the system, allow me customize it a little and to make it what I want it to be for me.
I'll update later, but first impressions are pretty good so far. This vest will see a lot of time in the woods. It will get used in a lof of different scenarios turkey hunting and with it's adaptability could be my go to vest for turkeys.
