Mossberg SA-20 choke

Got a Mossberg SA-20 setup.  I run 1 5/8oz #9 TSS handloads.

I tried a Trulock ported .585 and it'd kill a turkey but it's a BIG kinda holey pattern.

I'm looking for a nice dense but not screaming tight hunting pattern.  Maybe a 250/250 or 275/225 or so.

I was a bit surprised at how blown out the .585 looked.

Thought an Indian Creek 570 or 562 but figured I'd ask here before I order.

Thanx!

Happy

I use a  Carlson. 565 in my SA-20. It does a little over 300 in the ten at 40. That's with 8.5 shot

Hello, the Trulock mobile choke in 585 is an extra full .035 constriction and though not listed as a turkey choke, extra full has worked pretty well for me in my 20ga Benelli, my shots are usually from 15-35 yards. I've used 1 5/8oz of #9 TSS and a Carlsons 590 choke and got 72% of the pellets in a 20" circle at 40 yds. I've also done well with a Carlsons 575 at 75%, not much difference in total pellet count but hotter at the core. You can spend more money on a choke but like Happy, I've been pretty satisfied with Carlsons  :z-twocents: . Links below.
