Wore my Redheads today on a quail hunt.  It is a bear getting my ankles in them, but once in, good support.  Walked all day and feet not tired.  So far, thumbs up.  Will see how they last.

Update: I went with the Danner sharptail snake boots. I'm liking them pretty good so far. 10 days straight in Ms and 3 day in Mo so far and they have performed admirably.

 Still waterproof, didn't take very long to break in, very comfortable, the soles are soft enough to feel most sticks before breaking while stepping on them, have worn them all day even in temps in the high 80's. They were a tad warm but with the breathable nature of these boots my feet were dry as bone at the end of the day.

 I thought the less aggressive sole would have traction issues walking through wet leaves on uneven ground but that's not the case. I'm actually thinking of picking up another pair to hold in reserve for when these wear out.

I've had Redhead and Rocky side zip snake boots. Both are lightweight and comfortable. Both only last 6 months to 2 years before they start leaking.

Have you walked in any clay? Lots of slick orange clay where I hunt in Tennessee. Definitely need an aggressive sole here.

There's was a fair amount of clay in Ms not so much in Mo.

Looking for a pair of side zip snake boots. I ordered a pair from Rocky, I couldn't even get my foot down in them. Then I went to our local sporting goods store to try some on before I purchased. I tried a pair that fit my feet really good, but the zipper will only go up about half way, like the upper is too small for my calf. Couldn't get any of them to zip up and fit right.

I had a pair of side zip Redhead snake boots and I really like them.... I wore them out over the years ...

Now I have a pair of slip on style snake boots that an awesome friend on the forum gifted me...

Have gone through some of the same pairs with most recent being Irish Setter side zipped.

Would not recommend them as the rubber cracked/leaked after 18-months, a little on heavy side and only 17" tall.

Only pluses over others such as vapor treks are fit and side zipper.
